Shrimp Po'Boy Recipe by Bella Gluten Free

Every bite makes my mouth sing with the flavors of fresh shrimp, spicy seasonings on a tender gluten-free bun.
With that lovely spicy mayo spilling out the sides, you won't want to forget the napkins. Makes 4 Scrumptious Sandwiches.


 With Bella Gluten-Free Multigrain Bread Mix and Bella Gluten-Free All Purpose Baking Mix you can make a real Po'Boy...Oh Boy!



Gluten-Free Battered Shrimp


24 large shrimp, deveined and peeled

2 eggs (for egg substitute use 1/2 cup of milk or milk alternative)

1/4 cup milk or milk alternative


1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Oil for frying such as canola, coconut or peanut oil

Bella Gluten-Free Multigrain Rolls (makes 6-8 rolls)Follow the roll making instructions included on the bag.  Add onion or garlic flakes to the mix if desired.

Spicy Mayo Sauce


1/2 cup mayonnaise

3 TBL ketchup

1 tsp mustard

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp capers (if desired)

 Mix all ingredients in a bowl.


Directions: Battered Shrimp

In small bowl mix eggs and milk. In another small bowl mix BELLA GLUTEN-FREE ALL PURPOSE MIX with spices.

Heat oil in heavy bottom pan or wok until hot and bubbling.  Dip shrimp in flour mixture then egg and then flour. Drop in oil and fry until light brown turning over once, about 3 minutes. Don't over crowd your pan. Place cook shrimp on a paper towel lined plate.

Add spicy mayo, lettuce, tomato, chopped onions and shrimp to your fresh roll. Take a big bite.
