French Baguettes by Bella Gluten-Free

When these babies came out of the oven, my family dove in as we created a roasted red pepper, smoked mozzerella, red onion, proscuitto and basil sandwich on a our beautiful baguette!

Servings: Makes 8-10 servings.  •   Prep: 15 mins  • Total: 50 mins

Baguette:


Prepare one Bella Gluten-Free Pizza, Roll, Focaccia Mix according to bag directions.

Follow the Mix it Up instructions for shaping and scoring.

Roasted Pepper Sandwich:

Red Peppers

2 TBL Olive Oil

1 TBL
Vinegar

1/2 lb smoked mozzerella, sliced

6-8 slices Proscuitto, sliced paper thin

1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, stemmed and whole

1/4 cup red onion, sliced thin

Mayo or vinegrette for dressing if desired

salt and pepper to taste


With Bella Gluten-Free Pizza, Roll, Focaccia Mix   French baguettes are back on the table.

Directions:
Mix it Up
• Prepare one bag of Bella Gluten-Free Pizza, Roll, Focaccia Mix as instructed on package.  

• Spray a baguette pan and divided the dough between the two chambers. With wet hands,shape the loaf into a oblong sphere and then score the top with a knife three times diagonally on each loaf.

• Set in warm area and let rise for 30 minutes.

• Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes. 

Roasted Pepper Sandwich:

• Add washed pepper to cookie sheet and bake in oven at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until skin is blistered and charred.  Remove from oven and tent tray with foil to sweat peppers. When cool remove stems and seeds and peel outer skin. Add olive oil and vinegar and salt and pepper to a bowl and whish to blend.  Add peppers to dressing and marinate for at least 30 minutes. Or buy already marinaded red peppers from your local store.

Slice fresh baguettes.  Layer with sandwich fixings.  Cut into 4-6 pieces/loaf.
