Ingredients: 8 slices of Bella Gluten-Free Cinnamon Bread 1/2 cup apricot preserves 1 tsp orange zest 1/2 cup ricotta cheese or dairy-free cream cheese 2 eggs 1 cup milk or milk alternative (more if needed) 2 TBL of butter/butter alternative maple syrup for topping |

Directions: In a medium bowl, cream together jam, orange zest, and cheese. In another bowl, beat together eggs and milk/milk alternative. Spread equally amount of filling on 4 slices of bread. Top with remaining slice. Dip entire sandwich into egg batter soaking well. Add butter to hot griddle or pan and add french toast sandwich in small batches. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer to an oven proof plate and keep warm at 200 degrees until you are finished making all. Serve with warm syrup and butter if desired. |
